Fatigue Management

 

TAJE places a huge amount of emphasis on Fatigue Management.
​
As a transport related business, we are legally required to manage fatigue of our staff,
​
As such, TAJE require not only our truck drivers to fill out NZTA approved log books, but also our load pilots.
​
While load pilots are not required to use NZTA approved logbooks (yet) like truck drivers have to, in our view, pilots using log books will make it easier for them to monitor their fatigue levels, and stay within legally mandates
​
Where a pilot cannot get back to the depot within their 14 hour work day (13 hours of driving and 2x half hour breaks), there may be an overnight fee charged so the pilot is able to remain compliant with the fatigue management rules.
​
This is the same as we currently do on our trucks.
